Figure 3: Paris vs. New York

Here is Figure 3, the scatterplot with "Paris-ness" as the X-axis and "New-York-ness" as the Y-axis. Note that these axes are not orthogonal. A few of the cities were manually labeled to show some points of interest. Again, note that the quantization of the data leads to quantization in this diagram which is not only ugly, but creates horrible over-draw problems!

This figure was made by my Python system, writing Javascript/D3 code, that was converted to PDF using wkhtmltopdf, and then manually edited in Illustrator to label the points.
