Announcements and Email: Announcements will be made to this website, and you are responsible for checking it regularly. You can get an RSS feed or even have the web page send you emails. Please see this note about email accounts.

Books: There are no required textbooks. Required readings will be made available online.

Exams: There will be a midterm exam and a final exam.
The midterm exam will be Tuesday, October 28th, 7:15pm.
The final exam will be in the time slot officially assigned by the registrar. Right now, that’s 2:30pm on Sunday, December 14th. However, the registrar sometimes changes this.
Note: Exams are difficult to reschedule, and arrangements must be made ahead of time. Please contact me a few weeks ahead of time if you forsee there being a problem.

Assignments, Projects and Grading: see the Grading page

Computing Environment: This class has been assigned to the Windows computing labs. If a program doesn’t run on the machines in these labs, it doesn’t run as far as we’re concerned. (see computing policies)

Previous course offerings: This semester will be quite different from previous offerings of CS559. A lot of it is an experiment.
