Form of the midterm
- What topics/chapters/readings are on the exam?
- Are old exams available?
- Do I need to remember the forms of the matrices?
- What equations are important to memorize? (especially with lighting)
- Is lighting and shading included?
Projects
- Can the projects be posted earlier?
Projection
- We put the image plane in front of the focal point, isn’t it really behind (in the pinhole model)? (with nice pictures)
- Can you put a lens where the pinhole is?
Primitive-based graphics
- why not just start with atoms and photons and work from the ground up?
Visibility
- Is the Z-Buffer always the same size as the screen? Can there be compression?
Shading
- For per-pixel shading, do we need a normal per-pixel
- How do you do per-pixel shading if the pixels are in screen coordinates and the triangles are in something else?
Lighting
- Are the lighting equations the same for ray-tracing?
- Why would OpenGL need non-unit length vectors except to annoy us?
