in Project 1 Checkpoint 1

Team members:
Jim Hill
Raja Bala
Lulu Zhang
Chaman Verma

Tools we will be using:
Programming language: C++
Windowing Toolkit: Qt
Platforms: Windows, Linux, Mac (If all goes smoothly with Qt)
Repository: Mercurial
Collaboration: Skype and Email

Rough plan for division of labor:

Currently we are each investigating open source options for reading and
writing file formats. Once we understand the global picture we will be
better equipped to divide the work. Currently things fall as follows:
Chaman will work on file loading, Jim and Raja will work on skeleton
infrastructure and motion management, Jim and Lulu will work on the UI
in Qt.

Picture:

Chaman currently has BVHReader up and running and is studying the BVH
file format, he will report on Friday after class what his findings are
as to the requirements of the skeleton code.

Chaman has also reported that he has installed BioViewer and can visualize
many BVH files. He believes that once we understand the BVH and TVD
formats we'll be able to proceed with step 3.

Raja is currently learning about the C3D format.

Jim and Raja spent time getting the Mercurial repo up on Raja's cs
space. We can access it via ssh.

Lulu and Jim are reading up on the other file formats (AMC/ASF and TVD) and Jim will be
helping Lulu get Mercurial set up on Windows.

OK, seems like you’re off to a good start.

I strongly recommend TortoiseHG for Mercurial on Windows.
